MyChesCo, 4/15/2022- Houlahan Responds to Being Personally Sanctioned by Russia for Advocacy of Ukraine

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) issued the following statement regarding sanctions levied against her by Russia:
“My father was born in Lviv, so to be sanctioned by Russia for standing up to Putin’s ruthless war against the people of Ukraine is a proud day for me and my family,” said Houlahan. “We don’t need the history books to be written to decide who is on the right side of this war—we are seeing it unfold before our eyes clear as day. Putin is a war criminal, and I’m glad to have led efforts that have drawn his ire. In fact, this latest move has only strengthened my resolve and the resolve of my colleagues to support Ukraine, our NATO allies, and European Partners.”
Most recently, Houlahan led an effort with a bipartisan group of veterans in Congress (the For Country Caucus) to deliver S-300s, improved radar systems, Stinger missiles, anti-ship missiles, and Javelins among other weaponry to the Ukrainian military.
